Each piece in the Siamese series had the objective of exploring new techniques and themes, pushing the boundaries of the artist's process. "Siamese 21" stands as a singular piece within the collection because it is the only one painted in oil, and because it reflects some of the growth and experimentation that came from studying at The Arts Students League of New York.
