Noche de Ronda (Night Stroll) #ADG

2019, Acrylic, gesso, mica, and oil stick on raw Italian linen, 72" x 48" (182.88 x 121.92 cm) mounted on aluminum stretchers

This piece was inspired by night strolls in Manhattan during the summer of 2019.  Technically, it condensed many learnings from the material experimentation Gabriela Gil had been doing in prior months. The end result is a multi-layered painting that conveys emotion and movement through the use of color, and material.
