This piece is part of a body of work that, similar to some previous projects, is inspired by nature and uses animals as the subject matter. The main difference with this one is that these birds only exist in Gabriela's imagination.

She is interested in painting animals as a way to learn from them and in some ways take on some of the characteristics they have. It’s not a new thing, humans have been trying to emulate wildlife since the beginning of time.
