2020, 48”x36” (121.92 x 91.44 cm), Acrylic, oil stick, and spray paint on dyed canvas
This is a painting Gabriela Gil began in 2019, and finished during the lockdown of 2020. It was originally inspired by the experience of in the sea during a sunny day. The title speaks to the uncertainty of the moment in New York at the time she finished the piece, but also to nature, and the observation that there are no straight lines in nature, just shapes that create this illusion when standing next to each other.
